Hanwha Solutions, a chemical and energy unit of South Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group, announced on July 12 that its German subsidiary, Q Energy, will team up with a German renewable energy development company, Enviria Energy, to develop a 500-MW solar power project.

Hanwha said in a release that Q Energy will develop 38 solar power plant projects in collaboration with Enviria Energy. The size of the projects range from 2-70 MW each. 500 MW generated from these plants would be adequate to supply 150,000 households per year in Germany.

Established in 2017, Enviria Energy has successfully carried out more than 100 solar projects so far.

Hanwha Solutions will obtain the land and related government approval by utilizing Enviria Energy’s local network. The two companies plan to build and sell solar power plants or operate them directly and sell electricity by 2025. They will also develop various renewable energy businesses including wind power, energy storage system and others.
