Better Energy inks solar PPA with 12 firms in Denmark

EN

Better Energy, a Danish developer, has signed a power purchase agreement with a group of 12 companies who have formed a partnership with Energi Danmark. The deal will allow Better Energy to build a solar park in Denmark.

Bravida, Scan Global Logistics, Blue Energy, Polyprint, and Egmont are among the companies that have signed the PPA.

The deal, according to Better Energy, is a model for how multiple companies may collaborate and actively contribute to the green transition. The firm said, “We are quite pleased with this agreement. We've made it easy for 12 of our customers to make a significant contribution to the green transition.”

“Our clients have shown us a tremendous deal of faith, and we are glad that we have been able to identify a project that appeals to all 12 enterprises,” said Viggo Aavang Jensen, Energi Danmark's head of sales in Denmark.

Peter Munck Se-Jensen, executive vice president of Better Energy's power solutions division stated, “their combined demand will result in freshly constructed renewable energy, which is exactly what we need to meet our climate goals.”

The park is expected to be finished in 2023 and will generate approximately 70,000 MWh per year, which corresponds to the yearly electricity consumption of approximately 44,000 Danes.
