Equinix, a global data center company, announced on Monday that it has agreed, in last December, to purchase renewable energy from a wind farm in Finland under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Neoen and Prokon.

The PPA covers 85 % or at least 30 MW of the energy produced by the 35 MW Björkliden wind farm in Finland.

Equinix has five data centers in Finland, all in the Helsinki-Espoo area, and is constructing a hyperscale facility under its xScale brand in the city. The firm has committed to using renewable energy in all its 220+ data centers across the world by 2030.
