Indonesia develops EV ecosystem to assist ASEAN’s energy flexibility

Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs of Indonesia, stated at the 2023 ASEAN Climate Forum on September 2nd that the country is working on developing a suitable electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem to support ASEAN's energy flexibility.

Hartarto said, “The development of EVs is crucial to protect the environment, as it can help us reduce greenhouse gas emissions, accelerate the energy transition, decarbonize the land transportation sector, achieve zero-emission goals, and enhance ASEAN’s energy resilience. "
