Philippines' EDC to pour $1 billion into geothermal energy storage

Philippines' Energy Development Corporation (EDC), a renewable energy subsidiary of conglomerate Lopez Group, adds 3 geothermal sites to deploy battery energy storage system (BESS).

While holding the largest market share, with approximately 60%, of geothermal business in Philippines, EDC plans to invest 1 billion dollars to build battery storage plants in the city of Sorsogon, island of Leyte which next to Cebu, and Negros Occidental With totall output of 40 MW.
