Mitsubishi Power, a subsidiary of Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is seeking to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Sarawak, Malaysia.

The company sees strong potential in the state’s abundant hydropower resources, emerging green hydrogen prospects, and sizable natural gas reserves—low-carbon energy sources that could attract investment from power-hungry industries such as semiconductors and data centers, thereby driving demand for power equipment.
