At a conference in Taipei on June 9 titled "Powering Taiwan’s Future: Financing Energy Sovereignty in the AI Economy," organized by the Taiwan ESG City Net Zero Breakthrough Association, representatives from financial institutions and the semiconductor industry examined a challenge that increasingly sits at the intersection of industrial policy and finance: whether Taiwan can secure sufficient reliable, low-carbon electricity to support the next phase of AI-driven growth.
