Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia plan trilateral data center with Green Super Grid

Indonesia plans to build a trilateral data center with Singapore and Malaysia, aiming to establish interconnected facilities supported by a “Green Super Grid” developed by state utility PLN. The grid is expected to supply renewable electricity to the data center cluster and help expand clean-energy deployment and rural development.

Indonesia plans $25 billion grid to expand green power

Coordinating Economic Affairs Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Nov. 20 that Indonesia is in discussions with Singapore and Malaysia on the joint data center plan. He noted that the Green Super Grid would run from Sumatra to Nusa Tenggara and link the Riau Islands, supplying power to Batam—an emerging data center hub—with potential extensions to neighbouring Bintan.
